From Stilwell’s Learning Center

A student who had many learning problems was diagnosed for special education classes.  He spent almost two years on Expressways To Reading® and in the last few months made such gains that he was returned to regular classes. He then went to the top of his class!

A 9th grader reading below 4th grade level would become so frustrated he would hit himself in the head.  Within about 4 weeks, doing 2-3 lessons a day in Expressways To Reading® with much emphasis on handwriting, he stopped hitting himself and began doing the lessons at high speeds with good accuracy.

“My son received his report card on 3-23-09. His grades have been so much better since we have enrolled him at Stilwell’s Learning Center. On this report card he had 3 A’s, 3 B’s and 2 C’s. The C’s were very close to being B’s. Thank you so much for all your help.”

A 15-year-old boy using QuikComp® scored at 6th grade level when pre-tested in reading. After only 5 weeks, he tested at 10th grade in both reading and comprehension.

Sarah began with Stilwell’s Learning Center in July, 2006 with 2nd grade levels in all of her work. In April, 2007, her school found she now tests at nearly 6th grade level in everything.

Three children and their mother studied at Stilwell’s Learning Center for three months in the summer and returned to Korea able to communicate well in English. Their accent was good and they were becoming fluent both in speaking and in comprehension. Their test scores improved during the three months approximately three whole grade levels.

A fifth grade girl attending for acceleration for four months, four days per week, spent 20 minutes on Expressways To Reading®, 20 minutes on Expressways To Math®, and 20 minutes on QuikComp® each session. At the end of approximately 20 hours using each system, she made gains of about a year in reading, in comprehension, and in math.

My (son) Muka is just flying! Progress reports come out this Friday and he will be getting a progress report for the very first time without any D’s or F’s. He made two B’s and 3 C’s…without a tutor and no help from me or my husband. He has been so studious and it’s only been three months since he began Expressways To Reading® (ETR).

Mary is a 41 year-old adult.  She has spent the greater part of her life in schools where they tried everything they could find to help her overcome dyslexia, ADHD, and various other learning disabilities.  In August 2007, she began work at Stilwell’s Learning Center and was tested with an average 5th & 6th grade skill level in spelling, reading, and comprehension areas.  Her vocabulary was low. She spent twenty hours each week studying Expressways to Reading® only. When re-tested after finishing Lesson 190 at the end of November 2007, she tested in the 11th grade range in everything.  within ETR®, correcting every error and increasing her speeds gradually to higher levels.  She has been excited since the very beginning and is currently working with two lessons of ETR®, one lesson of QuikComp®, and one lesson of AdVocab® everyday.  She continues to make very exciting progress and expects to finish the language-oriented learning systems by July.  Then she wants to continue with the three math systems. Meanwhile, she is taking one college course and making progress in it each week. Her husband is amazed at her increased and elevated vocabulary.

A  7th grade girl started last March and has now advanced at least 4 grade levels and is at lesson 221, having finished every lesson from lesson 1 forward to 200. She is so excited that for the first time in her life she is getting all A’s except for one B. Many teachers had told the parents that she would never be able to learn like others because of having such a poor background as an orphan before she was adopted at age 2. Her parents are proud of her and love her very much. Her teachers are dumbfounded.

“We can not express how grateful we are for how much Bryan has grown in all aspects of his person as a result of your intervention.”

One family has been working on the Expressways To Reading and Math systems at Stilwell’s Learning Center for about 4 months. The mother is gaining reading and math skills right along with her 2 children. The second grader is now at least 3rd grade level in everything, including math. The daughter reached an overall 9th grade level while still in 6th grade.

From a parent: “Thanks for helping our son.  He enjoys seeing you and participating in what he had previously considered remedial work.  I can not express in words the relief that his father and I feel seeing the improvements in his self-concept, writing, and overall academic engagement.”Nelson did not want to come to Stilwell’s Learning Center but now he thanks his mother for requiring it. His school teacher is very pleased with his improvement. He now enjoys coming.

“This morning, as Bryan and his Dad drove to school, Bryan was reading the lunch menu out loud. His Dad commented Bryan was reading so much better. To which, Bryan responded, “You know, now that I can read, I feel like studying more”.  Thanks Chuck. ”

“I am so happy with Stilwell’s Learning Center. For the first time I have hope. My vocabulary has increased with so many different words. I’ve learned techniques and how to not just control Dyslexia but hopefully do away with most all of it. I’m learning little items like the different ways of spelling the sound ‘-er’. My husband says my diction is better. I am actually able to teach my seven year old son how to enunciate correctly and spell words. I have only finished fifty lessons, and I am so encouraged.”   Mary S.

Abby, a sixth-grader came to Stilwell’s Learning Center with very poor grades in math. After a few months she progressed from ETM I to ETM II. Recently she came to the center very excited. She was the first to finish the fraction tests and received an “A” grade.

A fifth grader with poor grades and retention concerns was able to finish 10 lessons each week for the first month. She just reported she is now on the honor roll at school.

A teacher’s aide in an AZ center explained, “Parents have commented how their children can now follow 3-4 instructions without having to repeat over and over.  I’m just ecstatic over the program.
